A little about me…
My name is Victoria and I’m originally from England. From a young age I have always felt drawn and connected to babies and children. Over the past 20 or so years I have worked with children and young infants in various capacities. After working as a nanny, and then as a preschool teacher, I have always loved being around children. It wasn’t until having three children of my own that I felt drawn to help fellow mothers navigate their role through the support and nurturing care that doulas provide. I am there to build confidence and empower new mothers in this new chapter of their lives.
After arriving home from the hospital after the birth of my baby, I felt completely overwhelmed and under prepared for motherhood. After countless child birth classes and being told everything I thought I needed to know, it wasn’t until I arrived home that reality set in. I truly believe that being a parent “takes a village”, but it doesn't really exist in the same way in today’s society. I am here to be the “village”, to be the person who can support and listen to you during this transformative time. I will be there to answer the million questions that go through your mind when you are feeding your new baby at one in the morning. I will help find the resources you need as concerns come up along the way. I also fully believe in empowering the new mother, or the second or third time mother, and helping her to acquire the skills she needs to continue her journey past the fourth trimester.
I can’t wait to meet you and your little one!
What is a Postpartum Doula?
A postpartum doula gives you physical and emotional support after the birth of your baby. Doulas use evidence-based information in our approach. Typical postpartum doula support might include offering breastfeeding knowledge, support, and assistance. Helping with meal prep, light house keeping and general assistance with whatever the mother might need.
